It has been a long established fact that a minor mix-up in the material could result in a major mishap and huge financial losses for the user. In order to prevent this from happening, all quality conscious project managers are increasingly prescribing Positive Material Identification at each stage of plant commissioning. Mix up can be at the vendor’s end, during storage at the user end or at the time of actual fabrication. Thus, if PMI exercise is done at all these levels, a 100% confidence can be built up in as far as material mix-up is concerned.

Can you conform material of construction (in-situ) for fittings of our super heated steam line by alloy analyzer?
TCR Engineering Services of Mumbai, India. routinely performs XRF based Positive Material Identification (PMI). We would require 3 to 4 days of notice to mobilize our engineering team. Please note that the team along with the XRF based instrument will be provided to you from our office in Mumbai, India. There will be a per day charge for on-site work including T&E charges.

What is the accuracy of your PMI instruments?
The accuracy of our PMI x-ray based instrument is +-5%. The calibration takes place daily and is accurate for elements including Cr, Ni, Mo, Ti, Cb, Ta, W, Co, V.

Can I get the tolerances for X-MET 3000T?
X-MET 3000T upon calibration gives an accuracy tolerance of ± 5% for higher concentrations (more than 5%) and ± 10% for lower concentrations (less than 1%)

What are your charges for PMI testing?
We are pleased to inform you that our company is the pioneer in PMI and we are the most well equipped and experienced organization in this field in India. We shall be pleased to undertake your job anywhere in INDIA. Please note that we do not charges mobilization charges and also do not chares as per spot basis. We charge on per day basis.
Charges for work in Mumbai is US $ 250 per visit inclusive of transportation charges. During a visit, we may carryout up to 300 spots. If you have only a few spots work in Downtown Mumbai (Mumbai - 4 area), then we can charge you for half days work at US $ 125 only.
Outstation charges will be US $ 250 per day or part thereof (No Half Day Please) plus cost of Air Fare and Local Transportation. A Service Tax of 12.24% is also applicable.

Can you % Carbon on our requirement of testing of over 1000 MT of billets per month?
We are pleased to inform you that we can organize the kind of testing needed by you. As your requirement is large and it is on a long term basis, we can plan to bring back our instrument presently deployed with our associate comapny TCR-KIL in Kuwait.
Please note that accuracy of analysis will be ±0.02 to ±0.03% in the range of 0.6 - 0.8% Carbon and approximately 100 locations can be analyzed per day. Grinding of sample surface will be your responsibility.
We also would like to give an alternate proposal for analyzing your sample on our world famous LECO Automatic Carbon / Sulphur Analyzer. This will require sample in chip form and we shall organize the entire exercise for you on a long term contract basis. Our people will organize drilling will be tested at our lab and we can give you result of up to 100 samples per day. We shall mark each & every billets and make sure that sample is drawn from a depth of 6mm so as to ensure that there is no effect of decarburization. This option will give you more results with an accuracy of ±0.01%. Each tested billet will carry our identification marking and a unique number.

What services do you offer for PMI testing?
We are glad to inform you that we are the pioneer and most well equipped PMI service organization in India and the Middle-East. Our office in the Middle-East is in Kuwait. We do offer PMI as a service whereby we can send our experienced operator with an X-Ray Tube Based PMI Instrument at a short notice (about 10 days) to your site. The cost of having our experienced PMI operator on-site will be US $5000 per month for a standard 8 hour shift per day. All travel and other related expenses for this operator should be borne by your company. Operators come from our material testing laboratory in Mumbai, India.
Using various X-Ray Florescence (XRF) instruments, engineers at TCR can provide elemental identification and quantitative determination without regard to form, size and shape. No samples need to be cut during PMI. Do let me know if you need the operator to work on a per day basis. We can also undertake work on a per-point basis whereby the client pre determines the number of points of inspection needed.
Our operators have done PMI service work at major oil and petrochemical refineries in Malaysia (Petronas), Kuwait (KOC), and almost all refineries in India. Our PMI operators have also worked on Nuclear and power plants, chemical processing industries and scrap yards.
If you opt for portable optical emission spectrometer (Arcmet 8000) which can analyze carbon, sulphur, and phosphorus also, then charges will be extra. We can also undertake RoHS compliance testing using the non destructive method with our portable XRF spectrometers (these are different instruments than shown above). The cost of air travel to the final destination, lodging/boarding and visa charges (if any) should be borne by the client. We will require a charge for mobilization and balance upon completion of the job.

Can you do PMI at VIZAG? What are your charges?
Our charges for PMI testing at VIZAG site as under, Rs. 10,000/- for full day of 07 hours shift. Over time charges @ Rs. 1000/- per hour shall be applicable after each shift. AIR FARE from Mumbai - Vizag - Mumbai plus Local Traveling Expenses at Vizag shall be extra at actual. Lodging & Boarding charges shall also be extra at actual or to be arranged by you.
General Terms & Conditions:-
- You have to provide a service of ONE HELPER to our operator at site
- All Scaffolding and safety arrangements should be provided by you.
- All the material should be in clean & open condition. If any grinding / polishing are required, then it will be in your scope
- Our team can be mobilize with 2-3 days on receipt of your firm PO
- Facility for Power (220 V) at the place of inspection are to be provided by you
- All Other Charges / Expenses like Octroi etc., if any, at your site shall be in your scope.
- Payment Term = Immediate on submission of our report
- Applicable Service Tax (@ 12.24%) will be extra on invoice value.
- Validity = 15 days.
You may please note that if you enter into an exclusive RATE CONTRACT with us and quantum of total visit exceed 40 Numbers in a year, we can extend 10% discount to you.
