TCR Engineering Services, India's leading NDT Services and Material Testing Laboratory, completed a positive material identification project for the Fishing & Rental divisions of Weatherford (WEUS Holding Inc.) in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Speaking on completion of this project, Mr. Billy Sanders of Weatherford said, "I would like to thank you and your company for the outstanding job and support you have given Weatherford, during this project. As part of this project, the TCR team members worked with the state of the art Mobile Optical Emission Spectrometer model Arcmet 8000 SP manufactured by WAS Worldwide Analytical Systems AG, Germany an Oxford Instruments Company. Using the Arcmet 8000, the NDT inspectors from TCR were able to check for the presence of Carbon, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Silicon and Aluminum in the products of Weatherford in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Manoj Mistry of TCR who headed the project for Weatherford in Kazakhstan said, "The beauty of Arcmet 8000 SP is that it doesn't use Photo Multiplier Tubes and is based on latest CCD Technology as a result it is not limited to the number of analytical channels and only requires to be calibrated for the known ranges of Alloys using primary calibration standards. It gives stability of all analysis due to its rugged design tested to withstand harsh environment."
ArcMet 8000 SP is a only dual-purpose instrument, which can be used both for laboratory and on-site chemical analysis. In Arcmet 8000 SP the spectrometer is in the probe unlike all other instruments where the spectrometers is in the main unit. TCR has custom designed this instrument cases in a manner such that it can be moved very easily from one place to another with the probe & other accessories well packed in.
