Corrosion Test Facilities in Kuwait of TCR ATSCO
July 1, 2006: Kuwait TCR ATSCO (a joint venture company between TCR Engineering Services (India) and ATSCO of Kuwait is delighted to announce the setting up of its new Corrosion department Kuwait.

The testing of materials in sour service conditions for oil & gas pipeline applications is an area where the laboratory truly excels amongst other test facilities in the region.

Corrosion Test Facilities in Kuwait of TCR ATSCO A wide variety of corrosion related tests are conducted to determine weight loss corrosion, inter-granular attack, pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, sulfide stress cracking, and hydrogen-induced cracking as per ASTM and NACE specifications. Tests can also be custom tailored to meet an individual clients requirement.

TCR ATSCO undertakes Hydrogen-Induced Cracking (HIC) Test as per NACE TM0284, to evaluate the resistance of pipeline and pressure vessel plate steels to Hydrogen Inducted Cracking caused by hydrogen absorption from aqueous sulfide corrosion.

Sulfide stress corrosion cracking Test (SSCC) as per NACE TM0177 (Methods A and B) at TCR ATSCO, is carried out by exposing a susceptible material to a corrosive environment containing artificial Sea Water and H2S at a critical level of applied or residual tensile stress.

Other routine corrosion tests carried out include, Inter granular Corrosion Test (IGC) per ASTM A262 Practice A B C D E & F, Pitting Corrosion test as per ASTM G48 Specification, Salt Spray Test per ASTM B117, Chloride Stress Corrosion Test as per ASTM G36 Specification, Corrosion test as per ASTM G35 specification, Ammonia Vapour Test and Corrosion test as per ASTM A761 Specification.

This latest development is a further example of TCR ATSCO investing substantially in extending its range of highly efficient sub-contract metallurgical services including materials testing, heat treatment, Positive Material Identification (PMI) and non destructive testing services. This significant development shows a sign of TCR ATSCO ongoing commitment to providing a world class service in a highly quality conscious environment.
