The laboratory

The Mahape laboratory sits in the MIDC-TTC Industrial Area at Electronic Zone, behind NELCO, in the fabrication and pipe-supply belt that runs from Turbhe through Rabale to Ghansoli. It is the site named on the firm's NABL certificate and the site from which the majority of its reports are signed.

Getting here

The nearest railway station is Ghansoli, on the Trans-Harbour line. The laboratory is inside the MIDC-TTC estate, which is reached from the Thane-Belapur Road; drivers should ask for Electronic Zone and NELCO rather than for the plot number, which is how the estate is signed.

The site serves the whole TTC industrial belt, Navi Mumbai, Thane and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and receives samples by courier from across India and from more than fifteen countries.

Sending a sample

Send the material, not a machined specimen, wherever the geometry allows it. Sample size guidance for each test is published in the sample size requirements (PDF).

Walk-in samples are received at the gate during reception hours, and outside them by prior arrangement. Mark the docket with the purchase order number and the specification the material is being tested against; a specimen that arrives without the governing specification waits until someone can be asked for it.
