Some of the losses an energy audit finds have a condition cause, and TCR Engineering measures that cause with its own inspection services in India: insulation and refractory damage in furnaces, boilers and heaters, internal oxide scale that reduces heat transfer in boiler tubes, and deposits or blockages in lines carrying hot or cold fluids.
- Insulation and refractory damage: located by infrared thermography of furnaces, boilers, heaters and tank shells.
- Boiler tube oxide scale: internal magnetite scale reduces heat transfer and raises tube-wall temperature; it is measured in a boiler audit.
- Deposits and blockages: thermography detects deposits or blockages in pipelines carrying hot or cold fluids.
