What TCR Sells

The company is organised around six service pillars and one cross-cutting capability:

1. Materials Testing: Mechanical, chemical, corrosion and sour-service, metallurgical, fatigue and fracture toughness, creep and stress rupture, composites, coating evaluation, fastener and rebar coupler, RoHS compliance, oil ferrography, welder qualification, and Heat Treatment Verification Testing for the aerospace supply chain (NADCAP AC7101 Materials Testing accredited).

2. Non-Destructive Testing: Conventional methods (radiography, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, visual, positive material identification), advanced ultrasonic methods (PAUT, TOFD, LRUT, EMAT, HTHA, Hydrogen Induced Disbonding), heat exchanger and tube inspection (eddy current testing, remote field testing, internal rotating inspection system, near field testing), tank inspection (Magnetic Flux Leakage with the Silverwing FloormapVS2i), helium leak testing, thermography, post-weld heat treatment as a preserved standalone service, and pipeline radiography executed across more than 14,000 girth welds and 2600+ kilometres of cross-country mainline.

3. Asset Integrity and Engineering Consulting: AiOM (the indigenously developed Asset Integrity and Optimisation Management platform), Fitness for Service per API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 and BS 7910, Remaining Life Assessment, Risk-Based Inspection delivered as Knowledge-Based Audit, Engineering Critical Analysis per API 1104 Annex A, ARTiS Automated Reformer Tube Inspection, fire damage assessment, plant life extension, design review, cathodic protection turnkey under the CP Division, and root cause failure analysis.

4. Robotic and AI-Assisted Inspection: TCR-owned platforms include ARTiS for reformer tubes and the pipeline RT Crawler family. Partner-delivered platforms include the ITAS robotic tank inspection system, the MagRover wall-climbing robot, MicroRover, and OTIS. Submersible ROV, drones, and bridge-inspection robotics complete the surface area. The AGAAS layer is TCR's intelligent agent and automation architecture across compliance, LIMS triage, sales quotation, quality management, and radiography digitalisation.

5. Civil and Infrastructure Testing: Concrete, cement, aggregates, soil, bitumen, structural audits per Maharashtra Clause 77, the 500+ bridge book of work, and high-strand testing for High Speed Rail. BMC Roads Department registration secured March 2026.

6. Inspection Manpower and Third-Party Services: Third-party inspection, turnaround manpower (24-hour deployment, 100 to 200 personnel during peak), source inspection, vendor audit, paint and coating inspection per AMPP/NACE and FROSIO, and API 510, 570, and 653 inspectors.

A seventh capability, Training and Published Authority, sits across the catalogue. Evolve by TCR delivers ASNT, PCN, API, and AMPP/NACE programmes from Vadodara. The TCR Arabia Training Centre runs the Dammam programme. The senior bench is published with ASM International (Haribhakti, Joshi, Kumar 2018; Haribhakti and Joshi 2021), with peer-style papers at NACE and at refinery and fertiliser industry forums, and across an active blog corpus that runs to roughly 500+ posts on tcreng.com and tcradvanced.com combined.

The Leadership Transition

V.K. Bafna passed away in 2013. Neelam Bafna, his co-founder and partner from the original 1973 build, took over as Chairperson and Managing Director. The transition was clean. There was no private-equity recapitalisation, no break-up of the operating entities, and no sale of the institutional database.

The company has been woman-led since 2013, which still places it in a small minority of independent testing and inspection companies anywhere.

Rohit Bafna is President. His remit is strategic, operational, digital, and compliance leadership: AI and digital transformation (the AGAAS agent layer, the AiOM platform, the public-facing brand and website), human-resource policy, and investment strategy. The Board includes Viren Khandwala as Director.

The TCR Advanced board is led by Paresh Haribhakti as Managing Director, with Neelam Bafna, Rohit Bafna, Viren Khandwala, Alpana Haribhakti, and Aashana Haribhakti Gupta as Directors.

The TCR Arabia board is chaired by Khalid A. Al-Dabal, with Khalid J. Al-Dabal as Managing Director and Rohit Bafna, Paresh Haribhakti, and Viren Khandwala as Directors. Syed Ameen Hassan leads in-Kingdom operations as Country Manager (KSA).

TCR Engineering, the Parent

The TCR Group

The TCR group operates through four entities: TCR Engineering (the parent laboratory business, Navi Mumbai, since 1973), TCR Arabia (the Saudi joint venture, Dammam, since 2007), TCR Advanced Engineering (the asset-integrity and consulting arm, Vadodara), and Evolve by TCR (the training academy, Vadodara, since 2017). Each entity carries its own page and its own website.

The delivery network is extended by four named alliances.

Chugai Technos Corporation (Japan). The Hiroshima-headquartered technical services group is TCR's Japan alliance partner, bringing the Chugai scale checker capability for boiler tube oxide scale measurement into the group's power practice (see Scale Checker) and opening the Japanese client base to TCR's laboratory depth (Global).

Approved Group International (Malaysia). Founded in 2001 and headquartered near Kuala Lumpur, AGI brings together forensic scientists, engineers, and restoration specialists across forensic investigation (forensic engineering, fire and explosion forensics, vehicle accident investigation), damage assessment, disaster restoration, and business continuity management, operating in more than 22 countries and serving the loss adjuster, insurer, reinsurer, broker, and legal ecosystem. The alliance pairs AGI's Southeast Asian forensic and restoration reach with TCR's laboratory-backed failure analysis and insurance referee practice (Insurance & Referee), and gives both firms a joint response capability on major industrial losses across South and Southeast Asia (see Offices).

BIEWU International Trading W.L.L. (Qatar). TCR's market representative for Qatar, operating as TCR Qatar. Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Doha, BIEWU is a multidisciplinary engineering solutions provider in asset integrity, corrosion protection, and industrial safety, with over 100 engineering and sales professionals serving oil and gas, power, and infrastructure clients across Qatar and the UAE. The alliance carries TCR's testing, inspection, and asset integrity services into the Qatari market under local representation (see Offices).

The Shape of the Group

The group is a static-equipment-specialist business: storage tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping, reformers, boilers, columns, reactors. The lab arm in India produces the test data. The KSA arm carries that capability into the Aramco, SABIC, and Saudi Electricity Company orbit.

The Vadodara arm carries it up the value chain into engineering consulting, Fitness for Service, and life-extension work. The training arm replicates the senior-bench discipline through the next generation of inspectors.

There is no rotating-equipment field-service overlay, and no aerospace heat-treatment process accreditation (TCR is the verification testing partner under NADCAP AC7101, not the heat treater). The shape of the group exists to keep the work technical, defensible, and high-value, and the ownership structure is built to preserve that.
