In brief
Anil K. Lund leads the conversion of plant blueprints and drawings into AI-ready data and the digitalisation of radiographic film archives, runs the Bangalore operations team, and leads the AI initiatives.
Background and experience
Anil K. Lund heads TCR Engineering's radiographic film digitisation department and runs its Bengaluru operations team. The department turns archives of physical radiographic (RT) film into digital records: each film is scanned, stored in the cloud and catalogued with AI tools, so that an owner can find and reference a weld radiograph in seconds instead of retrieving it from a film store.
- Scale: more than 250,000 radiographic films digitised for Indian oil and gas operators, among them IOCL and GAIL.
- Standard: digitisation to ASME Section V Article 2 and ASTM E1936, on industrial film scanners at 2,400 dpi optical resolution and 16-bit greyscale.
- Storage: TCR's Google Cloud repository or the client's own cloud, with redundant backups.
- Cataloguing: AI-assisted indexing, so the digital archive can be searched and referenced.
- Also leads: the conversion of plant blueprints and drawings into AI-ready data, and TCR's AI initiatives.
How a digitisation project runs, and what the scans must preserve to stay usable for integrity work, is set out in RT film digitalisation and on the pipeline radiography page.
